ANNOUNCEMENT: I have been invited to give a talk for iNOVA Media Lab's "Algorithms, Audiovisual and Cinema" masterclass series

I have been invited by iNOVA Media Lab (NOVA University Lisbon) to give a talk about my research on algorithms, taste-making, and Netflix.

The talk will focus on my published work titled: ‘Algorithms and taste-making: Exposing the Netflix Recommender System's operational logics.’

My research focuses on the cultural implications of algorithmic technologies. In particular, how algorithms are impacting the production, distribution, and consumption of film and television. And, more broadly, how these technologies are altering our processes of cultural taste-making and creativity.

Here is a link to my full thesis, which explores these topics in more depth.
